NBC News is reporting on a 17 year old who has invented a mobile app that can run an EKG. "The problem is that the medical equipment typically used to perform the test is expensive and bulky, making it impractical for people who lack money and access to hospitals."  As soon as we figure out how to work with the FDA, we may see many more practical medical applications for mobile devices.
